BOONE COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18)– Fish are being relocated from Big Bone Lick State Park because the dam is leaking.

State officials are drawing down the water level from the lake in Boone County to determine where the leak is coming from and assess any damage.

Kentucky Fish and Wildlife crews are using electrofishing, which temporarily stuns the fish, so they can be moved to a lake in Henry County.

Officials say the dam does not appear to be in imminent danger.

The lake, along with a picnic shelter and other surrounding areas, are closed because of the dam. The rest of the park is still open.
