PIKE COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) — Officials say two brothers are facing charges after an unusual burglary.

Officials said they responded to a residence Thursday in the Coal Run community.

Authorities say police arriving on the scene saw Mark Dotson run from the home with tools in his hands. Before police could respond, the homeowner tackled Dotson.

Police say after the arrest, Dotson also was found in possession of eggs taken from the home.

Authorities say Dotson allegedly said he took the eggs because he was hungry, then asked if he could go next door because he wanted a Mountain Dew.

Next door, police found the man’s brother, Luke Dotson, who they said was an accomplice in the crime.

Both men face several charges, including burglary.
