JACKSON COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) – People in Jackson County spent Saturday cleaning up the mess left behind by massive rainfall.

County officials say Friday’s flooding was the worst they’d seen in 20 years, with water covering roadways and yards in Annville.

A lot of residents captured photos and videos of some of the worst hit areas, like the intersection of KY 36-30 and 290, which was under water four hours.

“When I got down here to 3630 and 290, I couldn’t believe it. Water was just everywhere. So I called her back and I was like, ‘mom, you didn’t even mention it was this bad.’ She was like what are you talking about. So like 10-15 minutes prior when she had come through, it wasn’t even there,” said resident Ashley Cole.

A creek near the intersection also flooded, overflowing into a yard and leaving the family with a big mess to deal with today.
