WHITE COUNTY, Ill. (LEX 18) — The last inmate on the run after escaping from a jail in White County, Illinois, has been recapture.

White County is near the border with Kentucky.

Officials say Johnny Tipton was captured Saturday evening in Hardin County, Illinois.

Authorities say Tipton is from Wolfe County, Kentucky.

Officials said a tip led local sheriff’s deputies to a camper where Tipton was hiding. He faces escape charges, in addition to the theft and possession of stolen property convictions for which he was serving time.

Tipton escaped the jail last month along with Justin Bray and Zachary Shock, who were apprehended earlier.
