JESSAMINE COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) — A fire destroyed a home Sunday morning in Jessamine County.
One man was in the home at the time. Officials say he was alerted and likely saved by neighbors who spotted the blaze and knocked on his door.
The fire broke out about 5:30 a.m. and firefighters worked for hours to get it under control.
Most of the damage was confined tot he back of the house, inside and out.
Authorities tell LEX 18 that the resident who escaped is OK. They said he was able to get a dog out of the home but that two cats did not make it.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
