MARTIN COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) — The Martin County Sheriff’s Department said Monday night they are looking for a man who they say escaped custody by assaulting a deputy jailer and fled in a police vehicle.

Authorities are looking for Mark Allen Crouch, who they described as dangerous. Officials warned the public not to approach Crouch.

The sheriff says Crouch assaulted and overpowered a deputy jailer, then fled in an gray older model Crown Victoria with white lettering on the side.

According to police, Crouch is about 6-foot-2 and has extensive tattoos, including the words "Riley" on his right neck, "Elisha" on his left forearm and "Ohio State" on his shoulders.

He was last seen handcuffed, wearing shorts, a hat and glasses.

Anyone with information or who sees Crouch is asked to call 911 or the sheriff’s office at 606-298-2828.
