LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — The website WalletHub has ranked Lexington among the best-run cities in America.
Lexington-Fayette is No. 4 among 150 U.S. cities that were considered.
According to the site, it looks at cities with an eye toward efficient use of funds and services.
"We can learn how well city officials manage and spend public funds by comparing the quality of services residents receive against the city’s total budget," the site says.
Mayor Jim Gray heralded the findings in a tweet, saying: "This news is gratifying, the result of a lot of hard work by many talented people, including our Council. When I began as mayor, we made tough decisions that put us on the path to prosperity. I’m a believer in continuous improvement, these numbers show why."
