KNOX COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18)– A man has been arrested in connection to a robbery, kidnapping, and assault.

It happened around 4:30 a.m. Friday at a residence on HWY 459.

Deputies responded at 8:05 a.m. to the complaint and learned that 29-year-old Rickie Ledford had broken through the door of the victims’ residence while armed with a handgun.

During a physical altercation between the two, Ledford allegedly struck a female victim–his ex-girlfriend–in the head with the handgun. Officials say he then forced both of them to take him to his mother’s residence on School Street in Barbourville. At approximately 10:15 a.m. sheriff’s officials and local police located and arrested Ledford who had hidden inside a bedroom closet, and armed himself with a handgun. The injured female victim was also located and transported to the hospital.

Ledford was lodged in the Knox County Detention Center and charged with Burglary-1st Degree, Possession of Handgun by Convicted Felon, Assault-1st Degree, Assault-4th Degree, Unlawful Imprisonment-1st Degree, Criminal Mischief-1st Degree, Possession of Controlled Substance-1st Degree and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
