Sheriff: Nicholasville Man Assaults Deputy, Flees Arrest

JESSAMINE COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) — Police in Jessamine County are seeking a man who they say assaulted a deputy Monday during an arrest attempt and fled.

The Jessamine County Sheriff’s Office said 22-year-old James Gosser of Nicholasville assaulted the deputy as he attempted to arrest him.

Gosser is wanted in Fayette County on warrants for theft and failure to appear in court. He is wanted in Jessamine County for leaving the scene of an accident.

Police said he also has a warrant out for a parole violation. Authorities say Gosser will face new charges for assault and fleeing arrest.

Videos released by sheriff’s department show a man fighting as a deputy tries to handcuff him, then fleeing.

Gosser is described as a white with blue eyes, standing 5-foot-10 and weighing 180 pounds.
