Lexington Teen Charged In Armed Robbery Tied To iPhone For Sale On Facebook

LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — Police say a man responding to a Facebook page advertising an iPhone for sale was robbed at gunpoint by Lexington teenage.

Police arrested 19-year-old William "Tre" Handy on Sunday, the same day the alleged robbery took place.

According to a news release, the alleged victim told police he went to an area on Judy Lane on Sunday afternoon in response to Facebook page that advertised an iPhone for sale.

Once there, however, he said a young man approached him holding a semi-automatic pistol and stole his wallet and cash.

Police found Handy in a nearby residence and arrested him.

Handy is charged with first-degree robbery and is being held in the Fayette County Detention Center.
