Two Arrested In Church Parking Lot

WAYNE COUNTY, Ky (LEX 18) Two people were arrested at a Wayne County church after authorities were notified by State Police that there was an attempt to locate them. 

A trooper was notified from Post 11 that 38-year-old Dustin Ammon was allegedly planning to drive 45-year-old Heidi Nehls deep into the woods and shoot her. The trooper and a Wayne County Deputy located Ammon sitting in the driver’s set of a vehicle at Elk Ridge Baptist Church. Ammons was ordered to exit the vehicle. It was determined that he did not have any weapons on his person or inside the vehicle. 

Nehls was in the passenger seat, according to the arrest citation.

The arrest citation said that Ammon had slurred speech and appeared to be emotionally unstable. He agreed to field sobriety tests and was later placed under arrest for operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol, drugs, etc. 1st offense.

Nehls was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia and prescription controlled substance not in a proper container.

Both were lodged in the Wayne County Detention Center.
