BOURBON COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) – After an initial charge of tampering with evidence and abuse of a corpse, a Bourbon County man has been charged with murder.

Michael Hutsell was arrested in connection to the disappearance of  53-year-old Tina Johnson. Johnson disappeared in 2016 and her body was found in a crawl space of a home in High Street in January of 2017.

At the time, Johnson’s family told LEX 18 that Hutsell and Johnson knew each other and they believe he was one of the last people to see her.

In addition to the other counts, Hutsell has now been charged with Johnson’s murder sometime between the third day of December 2016 and January 1.

Hutsell was also indicted on charges of being a persistent felony offender and retaliating against a participant in a legal process.
