COLUMBUS, OH (FOX19)– Porn star Stormy Daniels, who claims to have had an affair with President Donald Trump, has been arrested at a Columbus strip club on a charge of letting patrons touch her, her lawyer said in a series of tweets overnight.
Ohio’s Community Defense Act prohibits anyone who is not a relative to touch a nude or semi-nude dancer.
Michael Avenatti told the Associated Press Daniels was arrested in Sirens Gentleman’s Club. He called it a "setup & politically motivated" and it "reeks of desperation."
Daniels, whose real name is Stephanie Cifford, is suing Trump over a hush agreement about an affair she claims she had with him in 2006.
Just rcvd word that my client @StormyDaniels was arrested in Columbus Ohio whole performing the same act she has performed across the nation at nearly a hundred strip clubs. This was a setup & politically motivated. It reeks of desperation. We will fight all bogus charges. #Basta

She was arrested for allegedly allowing a customer to touch her while on stage in a non sexual manner! Are you kidding me? They are devoting law enforcement resources to sting operations for this? There has to be higher priorities!!! #SetUp #Basta

We expect her to be released on bail shortly. We also expect that she will be charged with a misdemeanor for allowing “touching.” We will vehemently contest all charges. #Basta

Columbus police confirmed the arrest. They said they had no further information. They referred questions to a police spokeswoman who has not responded to requests for comment.
