SHELBYVILLE, Ky. (LEX 18) – Shelbyville Police were called out on an accidental shooting over the weekend after they say several teens were negligently playing with a firearm when it accidentally went off, shooting one of the teens in the abdomen.
The wounded teen was taken to University Hospital by Shelby County EMS. The teen is expected to recover.
The incident is still under investigation by detectives with the Shelbyville Police Department.
Police want to remind adults and teens to review and follow responsible gun safety practices.
