TOLEDO, Ohio (WLWT) – An Ohio Burger King is helping to make the last days of a dog’s life a little bit better.

According to WLWT, Cody the dog was recently diagnosed with terminal cancer and was given at most three months to live. His owner, identified on Twitter as "Karch," wrote that every day since they found out, they have taken Cody to a Burger King in Toledo for a plain cheeseburger.

The cheeseburgers make administering the dog’s medication easier.

According to the post, the owner says that one of the employees asked about the dog’s cheeseburger diet and he told the restaurant worker about Cody’s diagnosis.

After talking to the manager, the store employee informed Cody’s owner that they would be receiving free cheeseburgers for the rest of his life.

"I can’t explain how much that means to us, and my family and I are beyond appreciative," his owner said on Twitter.

Burger King responded to his tweet saying, "The world needs more kindness and empathy. Thank you for giving us the chance to do this for Cody."
