CALLOWAY COUNTY, KY (WPSD) — Kentucky State Police troopers have arrested a police officer with the Murray State University Public Safety Department on a charge of first-degree sexual abuse.
WPSD in Paducah reports that 39-year-old Mark Johnson has been placed on administrative leave from the university, in keeping with the school’s policy. The charge he faces is a class D felony.
Investigators say Johnson is accused of sexually abusing a 24-year-old woman. State police received a complaint about the incident on Wednesday.
Johnson was arrested without incident.
