FRANKFORT, Ky (LEX 18) The Frankfort Fire Department said that 17 people are displaced after a fire in the Thistlewood Drive/Collins Lane area.
The fire department tells LEX 18 that strong winds came, causing a tree branch to fall and hit a power line. The power line was live, laying on the ground behind the house. The fire department got to the scene but had to wait for the power company to come out and turn the power line off before they could bring their hoses to the back of the house.
One apartment caught fire. The damage is from smoke and water throughout the common attic on the second floor.
There was only one person home at the time of the fire and that person called 911.
