LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) – A Chick-Fil-A location in the mall has opted to close after multiple employees reported being ill.
The sign on the gate of the Chick-Fil-A in the Fayette Mall food court said that the restaurant was closed to equipment failure. After investigation, it was determined that the store had consulted with the Lexington-Fayette County Health Department due to a high number of call-ins.
According to an official with LFCHD, the restaurant anticipated being able to re-open Friday but informed LEX 18 they’ll be closed until Monday to deep clean the restaurant and sanitize all equipment. They’ve also agreed to an inspection prior to re-opening.
Other restaurants within the mall have reported that they have not experienced an elevated amount of employees reporting illnesses.
