FRANKLIN COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) – Two members of the Frankfort Police Department went above, well more so below the call of duty to save a kitten on Saturday.

The department posted on their Facebook page that just after noon a passerby reported to police that they heard a kitten crying from inside a storm drain.

According to the post, Lt Curtsinger and Officer Wise, along with some help from the Frankfort Sewer Department and Franklin County Humane Society, jumped in to action to rescue the kitty.

They say with some teamwork and patience they were able to save the kitten before more rain hit the area.

Great work by all!
