(LEX 18) — The National Weather Service has confirmed three tornadoes from a recent wave of powerful storms.
The agency’s Louisville office says an EF-0 tornado with maximum winds of 80-85 mph touched down about 6 p.m. Friday in Metcalfe County. It said the tornado was about 60-yards wide and traveled about 2 miles near Edmonton.
A survey team also confirmed that an EF-1 tornado with maximum winds of 90-95 mph touched down Friday evening in Hart County. That tornado hit near Bonnieville, officials said.
In addition, NWS also confirmed an EF-1 tornado with 105 mph winds near New Middletown, Indiana, just west of Louisville.
