JESSAMINE COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) – Jessamine County Animal Control officials confirm they’ve caught a bat after a close call with a child.
Reportedly it happened on Main Street in Nicholasville Sunday afternoon just before 3:00.
Nicholasville Police say a child was with family members when they entered a public restroom where the bat was located and it started flying around.
Police tell LEX 18 the child’s mother was concerned the child may have been bitten by the bat, though responding officers did not believe that was the case. They say the child is being checked out as a precaution.
Animal Control officials tell us they have the bat in custody and that it will be sent off for rabies testing.
No word on the age or gender of the child involved.
