London Couple Accused Of Abusing Kids While High On Meth

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) — A London couple is facing felony charges after police found children in their care suffering injuries while the pair were high on methamphetamine.

The Laurel County Sheriff’s deputies arrested 41-year-old Michael Robinson and 39-year-old Casey Hammack on Sunday after being called out to a report of a domestic abuse at home on Swiss Colony Lane.

Responding deputies say they found Robinson and Hammack with two children, a 3-year-old child and 9-month-old baby. Deputies say they were told the baby was locked inside a vehicle at some point and the adults smashed a window to remove the child. The baby allegedly suffered cuts to the hand and a bruise to the forehead.

Authorities say a cigarette burn was found on the 3-year-old and that Hammack admitted to burning the child while high on methamphetamine.

The sheriff’s office said Robinson also admitted to being high on meth while the children where in his care.

Hammack was charged with first-degree criminal abuse of a child 12 or younger, public intoxication, second-degree wanton endangerment and fourth-degree assault.

Robinson was charged with public intoxication, second-degree wanton endangerment and fourth-degree assault.

Both were being held in the Laurel County Detention Center
