LEXINGTON, Ky (LEX 18)– A teen was taken to UK Hospital with a gunshot wound Monday.It happened around 7:15 p.m. on Strader Drive. Police say when they arrived on scene, they found an 18-year-old white male outside of the home. Around 3 a.m. Tuesday, 22-year-old Erick Teutla was arrested in connection to the crime. Police say Tetula was using drugs and handling a firearm prior to the accident. "What I want to stress to the community is don’t play with guns," said Sgt. Jervis Middleton. "Negligent handling of firearms leads to situations like this. Couple that with narcotics use even makes it worse."The teen’s condition is unknown.
