SCOTT COUNTY, Ky. (News-Graphic)– A man was arrested Monday night after officials say he led the sheriff’s department on a high-speed chase that reached 80 mph.It happened around 10 p.m. on Maple Grove Road. The News-Graphic is reporting that law enforcement was alerted by a citizen who flagged down a deputy on Southgate Drive and said a man was sitting in a car with his head in his hands.When the deputy approached the vehicle he observed a needle and the suspect sped off with the deputy in pursuit.During the pursuit, the suspect made several U-turns and drove erratically, forcing the deputies to back off, Scott County Sheriff’s deputy Sgt. Jeremy Johnson told the newspaper. The suspect was later identified as 37-year-old Samuel Jackson. He was arrested and lodged in the Scott County Detention Center.He is facing numerous charges, including first-degree wanton endangerment, receiving stolen property $10,000 or more, and speeding 26 mph or > speed limit.
