Sheriff: Man Caused Disturbance, Assaulted Deputies

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) – Laurel County Sheriff’s officials say they arrested a man after he caused a disturbance and got into an altercation with two responding deputies.According to a release from the department, deputies responded to a complaint that Robert Kazee, 39, was walking down a roadway and causing a disturbance. Officials arrived on Foster Heights and say they found Kazee screaming. A deputy told Kazee that he was under arrest and instead of complying, he allegedly took off his shirt and began to fight the officer. Once placed under arrest, officials say that he kicked the windows of the cruiser while en route to the jail.The officer was forced to pull off on the side of the road to subdue him and at that time, officials say he assaulted two deputies.Kazee was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center charged with: Public Intoxication, Resisting Arrest, Disorderly Conduct 2nd Degree, Menacing, and 2 counts of Assault 3rd Degree-Police Officer.
