Crews Search For Man Missing In Red River Gorge

SLADE, Ky. (LEX 18) — The Powell County Search & Rescue group is searching for a camper who went missing Wednesday in Red River Gorge.According to a post from the organization, the man went missing at midnight near the Indian Staircase. Units were called out to the Bison Way area of Menifee County to the man’s campsite.PCSAR confirms that the 29-year-old male called his family at 10:30 p.m. Tuesday night to tell them he was lost. The man has a brain injury from a car crash and also suffers from schizophrenia.Teams from Wolfe and Menifee Counties are also searching. The man’s name is Leslie.
