LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18)– Charges are being dropped against an elderly man accused of robbing someone at gunpoint.It happened around 9 p.m. July 5 on Avon Avenue.Police say 83-year-old Dwight Newton took money from the victim and then took out a loaded pistol.Newton was lodged in the Fayette County Detention Center and charged with first-degree robbery. Police have since determined those charges to be unfounded.
