(WPSD)– A Tennessee man who was attacked by a bison at Land Between the Lakes will not be charged with trespassing or harassing wildlife.

LBL spokesman Chris Joyner said law enforcement investigators decided not to press criminal charges against the man, the Leaf Chronicle in Clarksville, Tennessee, reports.

“He already spent several days in a Level One trauma center,” Joyner told the paper.

Investigators say the 37-year-old man entered a restricted area at LBL on July 4 and tried to pet a wild bison. Witnesses said the man got within 10 feet of the animal before it charged at him.
