MENIFEE COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) — Officials said Saturday morning that a body has been found in Red River Gorge near where a an went missing four days ago.
The Powell County coroner said emergency rescue crews had found the body. The Menifee County Coroner’s Office will identify the body, officials said.
Tuesday night is the last time anyone heard from 29-year-old Les Reynolds. Family members were begging volunteers and others not to give up the search.
Crews had been searching along Bison Way Trail with help from search dogs and family friends.
As LEX 18 has reported all week, rescuers said Reynolds was off medication and likely was confused or distressed.
Reynolds’ family members said he knew the area well.
On Friday evening a good friend of Reynolds led a team to his favorite spots on and off the trail, but still no sign of the man.
