LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — Police have arrested a man suspected of causing five arson fires in the downtown area, primarily in parking garages.

Authorities say 23-year-old Andy Wayne Hall was arrested Saturday evening. He was charged with two counts of first-degree arson and three counts of second-degree arson.

Police say three vehicles were destroyed in the fires and that surrounding property sustained fire and water damage.

Police charged Hall with causing a fire Friday about 8:30 p.m. in the stairwell of the Hyatt, 401 W. High Street.

Hall is accused of causing four fires on Saturday, in parking garages at 140 E. Main Street, 315 S. Broadway and 156 E. Main Street, and one on the 12th floor of the Hyatt.

The fires remain under investigation.
