WOLFE COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) – It’s been a long and stressful week for rescuers in Wolfe County. Thankfully, a call they were dispatched to Monday morning had a happy ending.

Rescuers were called out for a report of a missing rabbit dog that had fallen over a cliff during the National Rabbit Running contest.

Part of our technical rope team responded and located the pooch, named Frec, at the base of the cliff. A team member was lowered down and provided a few snacks to Frec. He was placed in a harness and raised back up.

Frec’s tracking device showed he had paced back and forth trying to find a way back up the hill, logging the equivalent of 20 miles.
