BOONE COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18)– Two people have died in a single-vehicle accident in Northern Kentucky.
It happened on I-71 and 75 southbound in Walton.
Preston Gilbert, of Glens Fork, was pronounced dead at the scene, and Robert Gilbert later died at the hospital.
Officials say a pickup truck hauling a boat trailer crashed.
Witnesses told officials the pickup truck’s rear tire on the driver’s side came off and the truck lost control.
Investigators say the vehicle flipped into an embankment and the occupants were ejected.
The Boone County Sheriff’s Office say the victims were not wearing seat belts.
