LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE 3) – Two reports of individuals in an SUV luring children in one Louisville neighborhood has parents on edge.

Last evening in the Norton Commons area of the city, LMPD officers were dispatched to the report of a suspicious vehicle. The caller stated her 12-year-old daughter was walking the family dog at around 9:00 pm a block away from their residence on Featherbell Blvd when a white female, approximately 40-year-old with long brown hair, approached her in a newer model, small, black Lexus SUV with tinted windows.

The girl told officers that the woman told her, "Your mother is busy and can’t come pick you up." She then told her to get into her vehicle. Fortunately, the child did not believe her and walked home and told her mother.

As officers were talking to the girl, they saw the SUV drive by. They were unable to stop it when the vehicle fled at a high rade of speed.

Police say the vehicle description matches the SUV in another incident in the same community.

Police are using the incident to encourage parents to talk to their children about stranger danger.
