MARSHALL COUNTY, Ky. (WPSD)– Months after the deadly shooting at Marshall County High School, one student is getting a permanent memorial to the victims.

Two people were killed and nearly two dozen more were hurt when a student opened fire back in January.

Devon Evans saw his friends get shot, then realized he’d been hit, too.

Evans made a quicker than expected recovery, and decided to get a tattoo remembering the victims to cover up his bullet scar.

"So we have the steps leading up the time of the shooting. And the background is going to be going into heaven. That’s what the clock stands for. That’s Bailey and Preston. Has his baseball number 5."

Evans says a tattoo artist still has several hours of work until it’s perfect.
