ANDERSON COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18)– A historic barn has been destroyed by a massive fire.
It happened just before 1:30 a.m. Friday morning on Buckley Lane in Lawrenceburg.
When crews arrived, a barn was completely engulfed and there was concern over a nearby building where diesel and propane were kept.
Making the fire even more challenging, the barn was set back about a half mile from the road.
Thankfully they were able to get the fire under control before it spread.
The fire chief says he expects crews to work into the morning hours to make sure everything is out.
