WAYNE COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18/WKYM) – One of the biggest events of the summer on Lake Cumberland kept water patrol officers busy on Saturday.

LEX 18 radio partners WKYM report that thousands attended the annual Raft Up event held on the lake.

The tradition started back in 2010 as an attempt to break the world record for the largest numbers of boats rafted together simultaneously, according to the State Dock website.

Now it’s become a tradition for many locals and visitors to party on the lake..

Fish and Wildlife Officers made 18 arrests for numerous offenses on Saturday, one of the main charges was boating under the influence.

Reportedly two Cincinnati men were arrested on a number of drug charges including possession of meth.

The next large event to be held on Lake Cumberland will be the annual poker run on September 7th and 8th.
