LEXINGTON, Ky (LEX 18) Lexington Police say they will not give up until the person who killed Kimberly Dayton is found.

"She was beautiful. Absolutely beautiful child," Dianne Dayton, Kimberly’s mother, said in a phone interview with LEX 18.

Kimberly had grown from a beautiful child to a mother with a daughter of her own.

"When I was little in her apartment, she would make me pizza and we would cuddle on the couch and watch TV," said Kimberly’s daughter Makkinzi on the phone.

The Fayette County coroner ruled that Kimberly was strangled to death inside her home last October at the Matador Apartment complex on Winburn.

A neighbor told LEX 18 that Kimberly Dayton was the kind of person that would serve a hot meal or offer her shower to anyone in need.

"She would let anyone use her home. Use her clothes. If she had 10 dollars, she’d give 9 of it," said Dianne.

"She was great all around. She just had an addiction problem," Makkinzi said.

Detectives are trying to find out if Kimberly’s addiction cost her her life.
