ROCKCASTLE COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18)– A woman was arrested and charged after she allegedly stole an ambulance Friday.

According to Mt. Vernon Police, 51-year-old Pamela Cash had been seen at a Rockcastle hospital and was waiting on her sister for a ride. Cash said she got tired of waiting so she walked out. She then walked across hospital property where she saw an ambulance that was there to transport a different patient to Lexington.

Cash admitted to taking the ambulance so she could leave and go home.

Rockcastle got a 911 call from Christian Appalachian Project in Renfro stating that Cash showed up in the ambulance there.

Witnesses stated they saw her driving the ambulance and park it. They also say when she got out of the ambulance, she started rummaging through employees vehicles looking for keys to steal another vehicle

She is facing a charge of third-degree criminal mischief and theft by unlawful taking over $10,000.
