FRANKFORT, Ky (LEX 18) Prosecutors described the robbery and murder of an off-duty pizza delivery driver in Frankfort as cold and calculated.

Jared Banta was a Western Hills High School graduate. He was the victim in a December 2016 crime that was caught on cell phone video. LEX 18 has learned that now three of the five defendants, in that case, are now cooperating with authorities.

One of the three women is the person accused of luring Banta to what turned out to be his death.

Police say that in December 2016, Banta came to the Country Hills Apartment, believing he was going to sell Victorya Paige Young some pot, when her intent was to rob him with the help of four others.

Young was supposed to go on trial this week, but a special prosecutor said that she is now cooperating, along with two other young women charged in the case.

Brooke Kennedy and Cameron Montgomery are accused of sitting in a car next to Banta’s when he was shot and killed.

Krishaun Mays is the one who police say pulled the trigger, while Kendrick Burton is charged with robbery and complicity to murder.

The crime was caught on one of the women’s cell phones.

LEX 18 asked to speak with four of the five defendants who are still in jail and all declined.
