PULASKI COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) – A Pulaski County man has been arrested and charged with rape, sodomy and unlawful transaction with a minor.

Waynard Ray Hughes is charged with crimes against two juvenile females. Police interviewed the two victims, the eldest of which told investigators she had been sexually assaulted by Hughes at least forty times over the course of three years.

On one occasion the eldest victim told police that Hughes had attempted to take her into an adult store in Lexington to purchase sex toys, but that she had to wait outside due to her young age.

She told the police that Hughes had threatened to hurt her if she told anyone about what had happened.

A subsequent interview with the youngest victim revealed a similar story in which Hughes forced her to perform oral sex on him and had attempted to penetrate her with a sex toy.

Hughes is also accused of forcing the victims to watch pornography.

Police secured a search warrant for Hughes home and they seized Crown Royal Whiskey, Blackberry wine, and a DISH TV box. Officers did not find any sex toys but they noted in the citation that they found a burn pile in the backyard near the house.

Hughes is lodged in the Pulaski County Detention Center.
