SIMPSON COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) – Kentucky State Police are investigating an in-custody death in Simpson County.

Reportedly just before 12:30p.m. on Saturday, KSP Post 3 received a call about a domestic disturbance on Allen Road.

According to a KSP release, responding Simpson County Deputies encountered Joshua M. Thomason, 29, of Louisville.

KSP reports that Thomason drove off in an effort to get away from the deputies, leading them on a chase down Turnertown Road.

The vehicle chase came to an end near a field, and then reportedly Thomason got out of the car and ran.

Deputies and an officer from the Franklin Police Department eventually took him into custody.

After he was arrested, Thomason stopped breathing and the law enforcement officers on scene performed CPR until Simpson County EMS arrived.

Thomason was pronounced dead at the hospital.

An autopsy is scheduled for Sunday. KSP is investigating what happened.
