FRANKFORT, Ky. (LEX 18) — A fun day on the river turned a bit dicey Saturday evening for one LEX 18 viewer and her boating companions.

Missy Gains sent video and photos of a Kentucky River choked with tree limbs and other debris after rains hit.

"We had attended the annual River (poker) run on the Kentucky River that finishes at Mulholland Beach, which is located by land on Nineveh Road in Frankfort," Gains said. "The weather went from being perfect to a pop up rainstorm, which ended up dumping about 3.5-4 inches of rain in less than an hour. As the rain slowed down, we attempted to make our way back to the boat ramp and that is where the ‘excitement’ came in."

Gains’ boat was near the Interstate Highway 64 bridge.

Luckily, no one was hurt and the boaters were able to make it to dock.
