Garbage Pick-Up Moved Up So Sanitation Workers Can Attend Funeral

POWELL COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) – Rumpke Waste and Recycling is asking customers to put their garbage cans out early so its employees can attend the funeral of a driver who died in a recent crash.

57-year-old David Burgess was killed when he lost control of his garbage truck last week in Clay City and crashed.

Rumpke is asking customers to put their garbage out on the curb by midnight on Sunday, to allow area crews to pick-up the trash early so they can attend Burgess funeral.

Reportedly visitation for Burgess is scheduled for 10:00a.m. to 1:00p.m. on Monday at the Grayson FH Chapel in Clay City. A Graveside service is set for 2:00p.m. at the Longview Cemetery in Bethel.
