GEORGETOWN, Ky. (LEX 18) — A lockdown issued on Georgetown College’s campus was quickly retracted.

Students and staff received a text message alerting them that an incident had occurred. The warnings encouraged everyone to shelter in place. A follow-up message reported that the lockdown was lifted and three individuals were taken into custody.

Georgetown Police say that three people jumped out of a car near College Street during a traffic stop and took off running.

LEX 18 has reached out to Georgetown College but had not received any additional information.
