SIMPSON COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18)– Kentucky State Police are investigating the death of a man who died in police custody.
It happened just before 12:30 p.m. Saturday on Allen Road in Franklin.
Police say they received a call about a domestic disturbance in the area.
That’s where they found 29-year-old Joshua M. Thomason, of Louisville, who allegedly led police on a short car chase, and foot pursuit before being taken into custody.
Police say after the arrest, Thomason stopped breathing.
Deputies performed CPR until EMS arrived.
Thomason was taken to a hospital in Franklin, where he later died.
Results from an autopsy are pending.
