PINE KNOT, Ky. (LEX 18) – An inmate at the satellite prison camp in Pine Knot was found deceased Monday.
According to a release, inmate John Arthur was found unresponsive. He was transported to a local hospital for treatment of unspecified life-threatening injuries.
Aruthur was pronounced dead at 1 p.m. by hospital staff. No staff or other inmates were injured, and at no time was the public in danger.
Arthur was a 55-year old male serving a 15-month sentence for Aiding and Abetting the Receipt of Stolen Property of the United States. He was sentenced in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Kentucky. He had been at USP McCreary since July 30.
