WHITLEY COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) – A death investigation is underway in Whitley County after a teen was found dead with a suspicious device nearby.
A 19-year-old man was found dead at his home on Peggy Lane outside of Corbin over the weekend. Kentucky State Police are investigating the circumstances in which James King was found dead inside a trailer with one possible explosive nearby.
KSP’s Hazardous Device Unit was called to the home on Saturday after the coroner says he found what appeared to be an explosive near the body.
King suffered a self-inflicted gunshot wound that may have been accidental. KSP and the County Coroner are now both waiting on autopsy results to make that determination.
