BULLITT COUNTY, Ky. (WAVE 3)– Hundreds of students in Bullitt County are not allowed to go back to school because they don’t have the correct immunizations.
Under a new state regulations all Kentucky students must have proof of having the hepatitis a vaccine by the first day of school.
Lesa Howell, the District Health Coordinator Bullitt County Public Schools, says 300 students were out Monday for immunization issues.
But that number is expected to go down as issues get resolved.
Districts around the state are reminding parents about the new immunization requirements.
