Fayette Co. Schools Employee Arrested On Sexual Abuse Charges

LEXINGTON, Ky (LEX 18) An employee at Fayette County Public Schools has been placed on administrative leave after being charged with sexual abuse.

The arrest warrant states that in 2018, the alleged victim said Thomas Steuart had sexually abused him. The arrest warrant also states that the victim and other juveniles would go to Steuart’s home to go swimming and watch movies. The victim said that while watching a movie at Steuart’s house, he was inappropriately touched by Steuart. 

The abuse happened between 2015 and 2017, according to the criminal complaint. 

Steuart is charged with sexual abuse first degree, victim under 12-years-old. 

The Fayette County Public Schools Spokesperson released the following statement: "We take any allegations of this nature very seriously and would never tolerate the kind of behavior that is alleged in these charges. We will take any and all necessary steps to ensure the safety of our students. The employee in question has been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of the case."
