Making A Difference: Anonymous Donor Shows Pendleton Co. Teachers Support

PENDLETON COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) — An anonymous donor surprised 143 educators in Pendleton County for their opening day.

It all started with an anonymous phone call.

"You mean, all of the teachers in the district, not just some, not just a building. She said, ‘No, I want each one, individually,’" said Karen Delaney with the Pendleton County Education Foundation.

One hundred and forty-three educators received a $100 bill, and they never saw it coming.

The Pendleton County Education Foundation said it is about more than just the donation, especially with what Kentucky educators have gone through the past year.

"She said, ‘I just want to do something,’ to show teachers that there are people out there that, this is a quote, ‘that have their back, and support them in what they do every day for students, and then recognize that they give so much more than they are compensated,’" Delaney told LEX 18.

The teachers couldn’t be more grateful.
